For the Panvel Wise City, we aim to develop an eco centric, innovative and unparalleled  masterplan in 4 distinct Zones. While not limited to it, Urbanscape Studio will be involved  in proposing mixed-use plans for the Buffer Zones and Blue Zone that run along the  spine of the town. We envision these developments to act as a catalyst for the 400 acres  integrated township.

"High streets should be designed as dynamic, adaptable spaces that can evolve alongside changing social, economic, and environmental conditions." - Rem Koolhaas

Design Principles

We are designing 40 acres of land which will ensure high community engagement, sustainable growth, and a cohesive, well-knit city. The design fosters a vibrant community by incorporating diverse land uses such as, commercial, recreational, and green spaces. This promotes walkability, reduces dependency on cars, and encourages social interaction.

The layout supports efficient public transportation systems and provide pedestrian-friendly infrastructure like sidewalks, bike lanes, and safe crossings to enhance connectivity within the community.

Design proves its resilience in mind through considering the impacts of climate change and natural disasters. Incorporate features like green infrastructure, resilient building materials, and flexible design elements that can adapt to changing needs over time.

Design Evolution

ZONING AND VEHICULAR MOVEMENT

Central Vehicular Spine connecting all the 4 Zones is 18m wide, which can be expanded to 36m in totality.

PEDESTRIAN MOVEMENT

Pedestrian movement is parallel to the vehicular ones. It connects all 4 Zones vertically and horizontally.

PUBLIC REALM

Spreading inter-connected public plazas all across the site.

INTEGRATED MASTER PLAN

High community engagement, sustainable growth, and a cohesive, well-knit city.

Design Thinking

Pedestrianization

It facilitates a shift towards a more inclusive and accessible urban landscape, promoting social equity and community cohesion. By reclaiming streets from cars and reallocating space for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit, business districts become inviting, safe, and conducive to social interaction. This fosters a sense of belonging and encourages diverse community members to actively participate in the public realm, thus strengthening social ties and fostering a shared sense of identity.

 Central public square

It serves as a dynamic gathering space that facilitates meaningful connections among diverse community members. Positioned at the heart of the business district, it becomes a vibrant hub where residents, workers and visitors converge to socialize, celebrate, and exchange ideas. Through thoughtful design elements such as inviting seating areas, interactive art installations, and flexible event spaces, the square fosters a sense of belonging and civic pride, encouraging active participation in the public realm and strengthening social bonds across demographic lines.

Built Morphology

The seamless fusion of built and unbuilt elements energizes the cityscape into a vibrant 24-hour dynamic. Busy commercial areas and lively entertainment zones blend with serene parks and waterfronts, offering diverse experiences day and night. This vitality enhances the appeal and resilience of business districts, fostering economic strength and social unity. Such integration creates an inclusive urban environment, catering to varied needs and fostering a sense of belonging for all residents and visitors.

Courtyards

They serve as tranquil retreats amidst the bustling urban environment, providing residents, workers, and visitors with opportunities for relaxation, and social interaction. Nestled within the fabric of the business district, these semi-private spaces offer respite from the urban cacophony, inviting individuals to connect, and recharge. Through thoughtful design interventions such as lush landscaping and comfortable seating courtyards become inviting oases that foster a sense of belonging and community cohesion, thus enriching the social fabric of the city.
